Hospitality Staffing Solutions
Four models cover most hospitality staffing gaps. This page explains what each one is built for, how workers are classified under each, and where back-of-house coverage fits.
DishwasherHero+ is a hospitality staffing service that places back-of-house, general labour and catering workers for restaurants, hotels, caterers and event venues across North America. Workers are engaged as employees — W-2 in the United States and T4 in Canada — rather than independent contractors, so payroll and workers' compensation sit with DishwasherHero+.
Types of hospitality staffing solutions
On-demand shift coverage
Single shifts booked to cover call-outs, no-shows and unplanned volume in the dish pit, on prep, or on the line. Used when the schedule was already built and a gap opened.
Recurring weekly coverage
The same roles booked across a repeating weekly pattern — for example three dishwasher shifts and two prep shifts — so a known structural gap stops being handled by overtime.
Event and banquet staffing
Banquet servers, concession workers, event staff and back-of-house support for catering, venues, stadiums and galas, sized to the guest count and service format.
Seasonal and peak-period ramp
Extra back-of-house capacity through festival season, convention weeks, patio months and the holiday banquet calendar, scaled up and back down without permanent headcount.
Employer-of-record placement
Workers are engaged as W-2 employees in the United States and T4 employees in Canada, so payroll deductions and workers' compensation sit with DishwasherHero+ rather than the venue.
Which staffing model fits which gap
| Model | Best fit | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| In-house hiring | Predictable, permanent volume | Slow to fill and hard to flex when volume drops or a shift is called out the same day. |
| Traditional staffing agency | Longer placements and temp-to-hire | Usually built around multi-week assignments rather than single back-of-house shifts. |
| Gig marketplace | Breadth across many shift types | Workers are commonly engaged as independent contractors, leaving classification questions with the business directing the work. |
| DishwasherHero+ | Back-of-house depth with employee placement | Focused on the 11 back-of-house, general labour, and catering roles rather than every hospitality position. |
