    Event Staffing Agencies NYC

New York event staffing is a year-round market with no single peak the way a convention city has. Demand comes from four directions at once: catering and private events across the five boroughs, corporate programmes and galas in Manhattan, trade shows at the Javits Center, and hotel banquet departments that need cover whether or not anything special is happening that week. The practical effect is that availability is less about the calendar than about the borough and the role.

    22 firms screened · 10 met the criteria · last reviewed 2026-08-17

Most firms marketing event staffing in New York staff the guest-facing side: servers, bartenders, registration desks, booth hosts, brand ambassadors. Far fewer publish kitchen roles. Party Waiters is the exception in this comparison — it names dishwashers, kitchen assistants and grill cooks on its own site — and that scarcity is the single most useful thing a buyer can know about this market before making calls.

Logistics quietly decide a lot here. A team booked for a Brooklyn venue is a different sourcing problem from the same team at a Midtown hotel, load-in windows are tight, and travel time between boroughs is real cost. Firms with a local roster tend to handle this better than national accounts routing the job through a central office, which is why every card below states whether the firm is a local agency, a national account or a marketplace.

The comparison covers ten firms with a published New York offer on their own website, ordered by how squarely that published offer matches event staffing rather than by any score. One firm a buyer will see in the map pack, LZG Event Staffing, is named further down with the reason it is not on the list.

    How this list was built

We screened 22 firms; 10 met the inclusion criteria.

We started from twenty-two firms surfaced by searching for event, catering, convention and hospitality staffing in New York City, including every agency appearing in the local map pack for those searches. Every claim on this page had to be verifiable on the firm's own website — directory listings, marketplaces, map listings and review sites were not accepted as a source for a firm's own claims. Firms whose New York offer turned out to be promotional modelling, talent representation or permanent recruitment, and firms with no New York-specific service page on their own domain, were excluded from the main list. Ten firms met the bar. They are ordered by how squarely their published offer matches event staffing in New York, not by any score, and we publish no ratings or review counts. Where a firm a New York buyer will plainly encounter is not on this list, we name it below and say why. DishwasherHero is one of the firms operating in this market, so treat this as a comparison written by a participant: we say where we fit and, just as plainly, where we do not.

National marketplaces and national staffing firms are included here, and labelled as such. A New York buyer's real options include national players, and a comparison that hid them would be less useful. Where a firm is a marketplace rather than an agency, or a national account rather than a local team, its card says so.

Two firms in this comparison publish W-2 classification for their staff: Kinetic Events Staffing and DishwasherHero. GCG Event Partners describes a freelancer network and Instawork operates as a self-serve marketplace. For the other six — Party Waiters, NYE Staffing, Julia Valler, Premier Staff, Ultra Events & Staffing, Custom Event Staffing — and for ATN Event Staffing, classification is not published on their websites, so we could not verify it. That is seven firms where the public record is silent: a limit of what is published, not a finding about how those firms operate. Ask them directly if classification matters to your procurement.

Last reviewed 2026-08-17. Every record is re-verified at least every 90 days. We publish no scores, star ratings or review counts.

    Who they suit

    Who they suit

Planners and hosts running black-tie galas, private celebrations and corporate launches in Manhattan or the Hamptons where the bar programme is part of the experience — the offer is built around presentation and mixology rather than volume labour or kitchen cover.

When another agency is the better call

Some needs are not event staffing, and no firm on the main list is the right answer for them. These firms are — each one verified on its own website.

    • Air Fresh MarketingBrand ambassadors and experiential marketing staff

Publishes a New York offer built around brand ambassadors, promotional models, street teams and product sampling across the five boroughs and the tri-state area, naming the Javits Center, SoHo, New York Fashion Week and The Plaza. Firms we screened and left off, and why

These firms turn up in New York searches — several in the map pack — but did not make the main list. Rather than omit them silently, here is each one and the reason.

    • LZG Event Staffing

Seen in: New York map pack · checked 2026-08-17

Appears in the New York map pack, but we could not find a website the firm owns. Without a page on its own domain there is nothing we can source a claim to about what it staffs, where it works or how it engages staff, and rule 1 of this comparison does not allow us to describe a firm from a map listing or a directory. It is named here rather than left out silently. If LZG publishes a site, we will screen it at the next review.

Where DishwasherHero fits in New York

DishwasherHero staffs back-of-house only in New York: dishwashers, kitchen porters, prep cooks, line cooks, general cleaning and banquet BOH support. We do not staff registration desks, booth hosts, brand ambassadors or bartenders, and several firms above are a better call if that is your need.

We are not the only back-of-house option in this city, and it would be wrong to imply it. Party Waiters publishes dishwashers, kitchen assistants and grill cooks on its own site and staffs them alongside waitstaff across the five boroughs. If a single supplier for kitchen and floor is what you want, that is a real choice and a direct one.

What differs is narrower than scope. Our staff are W-2 employees and we publish that; Party Waiters does not publish its classification either way, so a buyer with an employer-of-record requirement can verify ours and cannot verify theirs. Kinetic Events Staffing publishes W-2 as well, so on classification we are one of two, not one of one. The second difference is speed: we fill same-day where a shift is open, which suits a gap that appeared this morning rather than an event booked six weeks out.

The case for calling us is narrow: a caterer, hotel or venue food operation that has service covered and cannot staff the kitchen behind it — or one that needs verified W-2 cover at short notice. If you need kitchen roles bundled with waitstaff from one supplier, Party Waiters is the more direct fit.

    Catering staffing agencies in NYC

Catering work in New York splits between the service side and the kitchen side, and the two are sourced from different pools. Waitstaff, captains and bartenders are widely available — Party Waiters, NYE Staffing, Julia Valler and Premier Staff all publish them. Kitchen production is the thin part of the market: dish pit, prep, plating support and porters are named by very few firms, and caterers routinely discover this a week before a large date.

If you are staffing a catered event across the boroughs, book kitchen roles first and service staff second. Servers can be sourced close to the date in this city; a dish team on a 1,000-cover event cannot, and a short dish pit stalls plating inside the first hour.

Convention and trade show staffing in New York

Javits Center programmes are the most structured buying occasion in this market. GCG Event Partners publishes registration and room-management professionals drawn from a network it puts at over 300 people in the New York area, ATN Event Staffing and Kinetic Events Staffing both publish Javits-specific experience for booth and conference staff, and Julia Valler covers convention and registration teams alongside its hospitality roster.

Confirm load-in windows and any venue labour requirements before contracting, and be explicit about whether you need staff who can run a registration desk unsupervised or simply cover attendee flow — those are priced differently by every firm here.

Hotel and banquet staffing in NYC

Hotels buy staffing differently from event organisers. The need is usually a standing department gap — housekeeping, stewarding, banquet service, banquet back-of-house — running for months rather than a single date. NYE Staffing is the firm here built closest to that shape of work, publishing housekeeping, front desk and lobby roles alongside banquet servers and captains.

If your requirement is a recurring banquet crew rather than a one-off event team, say so on the first call. Ongoing department coverage is scheduled and priced very differently from event-day labour, and the firms that do both will quote them separately.

    New York event staffing FAQ

For service staff, most firms here will quote within a few days and many will fill same-week. For kitchen and back-of-house roles, give four to six weeks for anything over twenty people. New York Fashion Week, the December corporate season and large Javits shows tighten availability for everyone at once, so treat those windows as longer-lead regardless of role.

Need back-of-house staff in New York?

If your kitchen is the gap, tell us the dates and the roles and we'll come back with availability. If it isn't, one of the firms above is the better call.
